Description
Ca. 2nd half of 4th Century BC A stemless terracotta Greek kylix (drinking cup), covered in a rich black gloss. The large, shallow body rests on a low foot that concaves, revealing the natural hue of the clay. Two strap handles protrude from the body. The tondo is decorated with eight-pointed star and ivy-tendril, outside laurel. Little splinters of the lip are missing, color is rubbed off a few spots, otherwise intact.Size: L:50mm / W:155mm ; 285gProvenance: Property of a London Art gallery; Ex. private collection WF, Munich, since before 2000.
