Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Ixtlan Del Rio type, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built and highly burnished pottery jar of bulbous form with a concave base, a gently carinated lower body, an upper body bearing 6 protruding nodules, and a squat, flared rim. The russet red surfaces are decorated with linear and circular motifs in white and light orange pigment that create a wondrous presentation for the eye. Size: 6.25" W x 5.6" H (15.9 cm x 14.2 cm)
