Description
Native American, Southwestern United States, New Mexico, Southeast Arizona, and Northern Chihuahua region of Mexico, Mogollon culture, ca. 1000 to 1150 CE. A set of 3 pottery vessels formed via the coil-and-scrape technique that exhibit hundreds of petite corrugations made by the potter at remarkably regular, tight intervals - a step that contributed to the integrity of the form as well. The 2 bowls each have thick rims and relatively flat bases, and the piriform jar has a round but stable base with a flared rim. Size of largest: 5.7" W x 3.125" H (14.5 cm x 7.9 cm)

Provenance: ex-private Idledale, Colorado, USA collection; ex-John B. Kendrick II collection, Denver, Colorado, USA, acquired 1965 to 1990

Condition
Largest bowl has chips to rim, second bowl has stabilization to one lengthy fissure stemming from rim, and jar has chipping to rim and one hairline fissure along base. Minor softening to some corrugations and light earthen deposits. Nice preservation to most corrugations and overall forms.
