TEXTILE: Whole-cloth chintz quilt, c. 1830-1850, cotton, made with a top fabric printed with pink rose-like floral sprays on a machine-engraved undulating zig-zag background in brown, back of the quilt is another floral print, with green, pink and white undulating floral vines on a background with brown dots arranged in stripes, binding is a woven stripe tape ("Trenton" tape), the quilting is in brown cotton thread at 5-7 stitches to the inch chain and feather patterns arranged in stripes, very good condition considering age and use including one small break in the tape edging, a couple of very minor light brown stains, etc., sold as found, 104" l. x 91" w.
