Alexander Hamilton (January 11, 1755 -1757 -July 12, 1804) signed Receipt dated 1796. Boldly signed in black ink. One of the Founders of the United States, an influential interpreter and promoter of the U.S. Constitution and the founder of the nation's financial system. Alexander Hamilton supported advances in technology and recognized that America needed to establish its own industrial infrastructure and ease its dependence on British goods. In December 1791, an early effort to spark an "industrial revolution" in the young United States resulted in the composition of the "Report on Manufactures" which he submitted to Congress. In 1791, the Society for the Establishing Useful Manufactures was formed in Paterson, New Jersey. This item has been professionally custom matted and framed.
