On January 5, 1859, during the Colorado gold rush, prospector George A. Jackson discovered placer gold at the present site of Idaho Springs, where Chicago Creek empties into Clear Creek. It was the first substantial gold discovery in Colorado!!Nice aqua IDAHO SPRINGS/MINERAL WATER CO./IDAHO SPRINGS/COLO. mineral water hutch. 24 marked on base. Measures 7 inches tall. Nice clarity outside and very minimal base wear; just a few rough spots above base. Black specks at inner lip & stretch markings down the neck into shoulder. Will probably benefit from a cleaning.
