Description
Grouping of various items from German-operated concentration camps, includes: a partly-printed letter from a prisoner at Theresienstadt sending thanks for a package; a second such receipt from an identified prisoner who later died at Auschwitz; three camp mail receips; three additional letters, presumably from prisoners; a prisoner's stamped name and number above a Dachau cap stamp; five Czech repatriation registration certificates; envelope from Litzmannstadt; and 12 photos and postcards, all post-war, including seven Polish postcards from Auschwitz. Also included are two pieces we cannot authenticate: two thin, red cloth patches, triangular and about 3 in. long on each side, one marked 'P' for Polish and one marked 'T' for Czech, sewn to the chest of prisoner's shirts for identification purposes. The latter patch is accompanied by a signed identity card photo of one 'Josef Snajdr', presumably its previous owner. Sold as a lot, as is.
