Japanese woodblock print depicting Zhang Fei, a Chinese military general who lived during the late Han dyansty, 25–220 AD, and became one of the major characters in the 14th-century historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Dated circa 1860s, Edo Period. Utagawa Yoshiume, 1819-1879, was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist, pupil of Kuniyoshi who is known for his depictions of the battles of legendary samurai heroes.
