Paul Cadmus was born in New York City and lived and worked there. At age 14, he entered the National Academy of Design. Cadmus was famous before he was thirty and worked into his late eighties. In his later decades, he concentrated on drawings as finished works, in crayon, chalk, silverpoint and casein on hand-toned papers.
