Tulis Batik Sarong, Indonesia, C. 1900-1910. Sarong worked in hand drawn (tulis) batik on commercial tabby woven cotton cloth. Design of four flowering trees with a small mound, related to the Indian palampore, with fantastic phoenix-like birds between the trees. Background motif of fine scrollwork.
