Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue Glazed Porcelain Sky Jar. Potted into large vase shape, having thick and tall, globular body heavy on shoulder, short cylindrical neck, round mouth lip and raised on ring foot base slight concave. Warm and uniform blue glaze applied to the surface, only the outer bottom is white glazed. Blue is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. Blue stands for healing, trust and long life. Shades of blue are used to decorate homes for longevity and harmony.The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
