Description
GREGORY PECK (1916-2003) Autograph letter signed to Arlene Youngman of the New York Times Book Review.
London: 10 October 1975. A four page autograph letter signed "Greg Peck" on the recto and verso of two sheets of Claridge's London stationery, 8 x 6 1/2 inches (20 x 16 cm), accompanied by the original mailing envelope in Peck's hand. Usual folds, else fined.
In this letter, legendary screen star Gregory Peck reports to Arlene Youngman of the New York Times that he is in London for "twelve weeks while I do a little acting on a picture called The Omen." He continues that while he greatly admires David Brooks' writing, he is uncertain that "Gone Away will reach the screen," and seeks other suggestions for projects from Youngman, mentioning that if he had seen them first he would have bought Black Sunday and Manhattan Man for his production company. He closes asking if Youngman had seen Travesties while in London. A chatty letter with an uncommon reference to The Omen.
