A BRONZE INCENSE BURNER IN THE SHAPE OF A LÙDUĀN 甪端 CHINA, LATE QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY Made of bronze covered with a dark patina. The mythical beast is depicted standing four squares. The incense burner opens by a cover or lid, in that case the head of the beast, retained by hinges. H: 20,5 cm Weight: 1485 grams Note: A Lùduān is a legendary Chinese auspicious creature. It looks like a deer with a green coat, the tail of a horse and a single horn on its head. It can travel 18,000 li (9000 km or 5500 mi) in a single day and speaks all world languages.
