Description
A large Chinese gilt lacquered wood cabinet, dating from the Qing dynasty. Painted red lacquer decoration on the top and sides with figures, the front two doors on hinges with a design of carved wooden relief figures. Inside the cabinet two small drawers on the top and bottom, separated by two wooden black shelves. Also painted lacquer on inside shelves and insides of doors. Both doors have brass plates for pulling open and locking, with a period brass lock included.
