Description
A LARGE CHINESE PARCEL GILT AND RED PAINTED WOOD INTERIOR PANEL, LATE QING DYNASTY/EARLY REPUBLIC PERIOD, FIRST QUARTER 20TH CENTURY, of pierced rectangular form and composed of four black painted varied fretwork panels, centering a reticulated fifth parcel gilt panel carved with two opposing auspicious Fenghuang birds amidst blossoming peony stems, enclosed by open sides with floral and sacred symbol detailed brace pendants joining a conforming dark red painted frame. Height: 45 1/2", width: 76"
Condition
Probably an interior architectural element in good overall condition with expected age cracks, marks, scratches, repairs and restorations.
