Provenance: Owen Horwood (1916-1998, South African Finance Minister, 1975-1984, ownership stamp to f.f.e.).
FIRST EDITION IN THE RARE DUST JACKET, South Africaan economist and Finance Minister Owen Horwood's copy. Friedrich Von Hayek was an Austrian-born economist who spent much of his career at the London School of Economics. He was, with Gunnar Myrdal, awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1974 for work 'on money and economic fluctuations and the interdependence of economic, social and institutional phenomena' (nobelprize.org/prizes/economic-sciences/1974/summary).
