Description
1829 Needlework Sampler by Harriet W. Johnson, aged 13-years, depicting a colonial home, original from Antony, Coventry, RI, with sentiment "How grand in age, how fair in youth, are holy Friendship, love and truth". In original frame under old glass, and retaining its original backboards, OS: 16 1/2" x 16 1/2". History on back: Harriet W. Johnson, born June 28th, 1826 in Coventry (Antony), RI. Daughter of Lawton Jonson & Susannah Manchester. She married Isaac Hale Sept 25, 1838 in Providence, RI. The house in the sampler was on the Main Street in Antony. (Includes 1930's photo).
