Includes Answer to the Foregoing Letter dated May 13th 1740 written by N. Dove Master of the Academy in Hoxton. Also includes invoice of Sir Andrew Gold and Co. for the purchase of Pepper, Redwood, and Wormseed signed by Nathaniel Dove, Serip. of the United East India Co. Dated November 27, 1738. Both framed. Both documents with losses to edges. Both with discoloration. Wrapped in plastic. Measure 15" high x 10" wide. RM. PROVENANCE: From the personal collection of journalist and editor E. Michael Pakenham (1933-2018). Pakenham was awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 1977 for his editorials in the Philadelphia Inquirer. He began his newspaper career at the Chicago Tribune and went on to work as an editor at the New York Herald, The New York Daily News, the Sunday Correspondent, and Spin Magazine.
