Description
An antique hand-painted gilt porclelain figurine by Frankenthal, a German manufacture that operated between 1755 and 1799 and was later united with Nymphenburg Porcelain. The figurine represents a rider, Russian Empress Elizabeth II, on a horse with a dark-skinned servant. The sculptural group is based on the 1750 painting by Georg Christopher Groot and on the model of the Meissen Manufactory by Kendler. Rococo art style, fine detail work. Hallmark CT with a blue crown on the bottom of the item indicates that the design was made for the elector Carl Theodore and dates back to the 1760s. Original item.
