Description
Africa, Madagascar, late Cretaceous, ca. 71 million years ago. A collection of 54 pairs or 108 individual fossilized ammonite shells that have been professionally sliced in half then polished on one side. These are perfect for jewelry makers to set as wearable earrings since they are matching halves! The fossils are mounted with adhesive in a modern Riker case but could easily be removed for use. Size (largest fossil): 1.125" Diameter (2.9 cm); (case): 12.25" L x 8.25" W (31.1 cm x 21 cm)
Provenance: private New Jersey, USA collection, purchased in 2016 from the Tucson Mineral Show
