Japan, early 20th century, late Meiji (1868-1912) to early Showa period (1926-1989)
The shikishiban woodblock print depicting two snipes strolling along the sea, leaving footprints behind. Framed in a worn vintage frame, behind glass.
SIZE 24.3 x 23.2 cm (image) and 25.2 x 24. 2cm (incl. frame)
Condition: Commensurate with age, browning, a few dark spots, a tear to the right upper corner.
Provenance: East German private collection, mostly assembled in the 1970s and 1980s.
