Japan, early 20th century, late Meiji (1868-1912) to early Showa period (1926-1989)
The shikishiban woodblock print depicting a snipe waddling in the marsh surrounded by reeds. Framed in a worn vintage frame, behind glass.
SIZE 25 x 23.8 cm (image) and 26.5 x 25.5 cm (incl. frame)
Condition: Good condition with browning, few minuscule dark spots.
Provenance: East German private collection, mostly assembled in the 1970s and 1980s.
