OHARA KOSON: A COLOR WOODBLOCK PRINT OF KINGYO

Japan, first half of 20th century, late Meiji (1868-1912) to early Showa period (1926-1989)
The shikishiban woodblock print depicting two veil-tail goldfish or Kingyo, swimming in water, one with red scales, the other with white and red scales. Framed in a worn vintage frame, behind glass.
SIZE 23.5 x 24.3 cm (image) and 26 x 25 cm (incl. frame)
Condition: Good condition, browning, little wear, and minor tears to the edges.
Provenance: East German private collection, mostly assembled in the 1970s and 1980s.
