A very rare English slipware bird dish, dated 1787
Probably North Staffordshire, of shallow circular shape with a notched or piecrust rim, trailed in two colours of mid and dark brown slip with a standing cockerel with speckled plumage, flanked by simple daisy florets and a series of graduated lines and dashes, with the date 1787 at one side, 33.8cm diam
