Description
JEAN-CHARLES WERNER (FRENCH, 1791-1849) HANDCOLORED LITHOGRAPHS ON WOVE PAPER, GROUP OF FOUR, H 12", W 16", SIMIAN STUDIES A collection of four hand-colored stone lithographs on wove paper by Jean-Charles Werner depicting zoological studies of monkeys. Titles include "Ounko Femelle," "Belzebuth," "Macaque de l"Inde," and "Douroucouli, fem." Each printed by lithographer C. de Last, with an embossed stamp in the margins. Frames measure H 23" x L 27". Property from a private collection, Saugatuck, Michigan.

each with soft handling creases, with time staining along the extreme sheet edges.
