A 1934 'Wanted' poster for the arrest of gangster John Dillinger (American, 1903-1934) issued by the US Department of Justice providing a mugshot with fascimile signature, a physical description, fingerprints, and a criminal record. Presented alongside a 1966 typed and signed letter from former FBI director John Edgar Hoover (American, 1895-1972) to a Mr. Michael Hill providing resources regarding Brink's robbery, with mention of an enclosed booklet entitled 'The Story of the Federal Bureau of Investigation'. Letter is headed 'United States Department of Justice; Federal Bureau of Investigation' and signed in black ink 'J. E. Hoover'. Double matted and presented in a frame behind glass. COA from Kenneth W. Rendell Gallery displayed verso.
