Description
SERIAL NUMBER 304 BARREL 6-1/4" CALIBER 12MM CF MANUFACTURED 1859-1865.Bright finish, checkered walnut 2 piece grips with lanyard ring in butt. Right side of frame web marked L. PERRIN and left web marked with serial number. Type 2 variant with thin loading gate hinged at top right side of frame and manual extractor / ejector assembly on barrel, Frame mounted safety on left side of frame. Post Front sight with frame mounted grooved rear sight. Skillfully and period engraved to rear of hammer with scripts "PD". A handful of these revolvers were imported by the US government for use during the US Civil War and are known as the first US issued centerfire cartridge revolvovers. CONDITION. Very fine with properly operating action. Grips are very fine with sharp checkering. Bore and chambers are fine. Numbers matching on frame and cylinder. This being the mate to the previous lot with identical engraving on rear shelf to rear of hammer. ANTIQUE
