Father & Daughters with 42-Star American Flag Tintype
c. 1890 Patriotic Americana Sixth Plate Tintype Photograph of a Proud Father & his two Daughters Posed in front of a 42-Star American Flag, made official for the 42nd State of Washington on November 11, 1889, Very Fine
A wonderful display piece with nice eye appeal, this historical Patriotic American Tintype Photograph measures 2.5" x 3.25". It shows an image of a father, perhaps a politician, seated in front of two lovely young girls that are presumably his daughters. All three are dressed in their fancy clothes "to the nines" as this was obviously a family of wealth and distinction. Behind the three figures is an American Flag with 42-Stars. Washington became the 42nd State admitted to the Union on November 11, 1889 and slightly later Idaho became the 43rd State on July 3rd, 1890. The image of the two girls are just slightly out of focus but the gentleman and everything else is clear with nice contrast with some traces of old glue from prior display at its far outer margin edge.
