November 6, 1775 Rhode Island Note PCGS Fine-12
Colony of Rhode Island. November 6, 1775. Nine Pence. Apparent splits, tape repairs on back. PCGS graded Fine-12.
Fr. RI-209. This early Revolutionary War period note itself is quite well centered and printed. The brown signature of John Wanton and the serial number are very clear. Typical early collector fiber tape reinforcement upon the blank reverse, mostly along the central folds noted as apparent splits, tape repairs on back on the holder. The current 5th Edition (1990) Newman reference lists a value of $1,500 in Fine, as seen on page 395. These early Colony of Rhode Island notes are a great value in such affordable, PCGS graded Fine-12 collectable quality.
