1834-Dated Autograph Note Signed "F. E. Spinner"
FRANCIS ELIAS SPINNER (1802-1890). Appointed by President Lincoln as Treasurer of the United States and served from March 16, 1861, throughout the Civil War until his resignation on July 1, 1875. He successfully urged the employment of women in the Treasury Department.
October 4, 1834-Dated, Autograph Note Signed, "F. E. Spinner", 7.5" x 4.25", 1 page, no place, Very Fine. A note written to A. G. Story Esq. Note reads; "Sir, Please pay to the bearer Mr. J. Keizer the amount of My Dividend due on the first..." Loss along bottom edge.
