Navajo Yei Bi Chei Weaving with Seven Dancers. Natural Dyes, Wool Handmade in New Mexico. A Ye?i Bi Chei weaving depicts participants in an event, people who are assuming the dress and function of the Ye?i for the purpose of a healing ceremony popularly called a Ye?i Bi Chei Dance. This designs shows the figures in profile and of significant note, the wool weaving is tight, the colors from vegetal and aniline colors and was handmaid in New Mexico, unfortunately unsigned. Hangs on vaguely Native American designed holder that clamps the weaving in pace, no penetration by nails, staples or screws. 25 x 28" and in perfect condition. Purchased from Trails West Gallery in Bozeman, Montana.
