**First Time At Auction**
Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sawankalok culture, ca. 15th century CE. An impressive pottery pitcher or kendi boasting a sizeable form and adorned with lustrous blue-on-white decoration of floral, vegetal, and geometric motifs. Sitting upon a ring-form base, the elegant vessel presents a voluminous body with a flattened shoulder that dramatically tapers to a narrow, conical neck and a flared rim. A curved, tubular spout projects from the shoulder. Size: 9.6" Diameter x 15.3" H (24.4 cm x 38.9 cm)
Provenance: ex-Nancy and Dr. E.F. Simpson collection, Los Angeles, California, USA, acquired from 1970 to 2000
