Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sawankhalok (Sawankalok) culture, ca. 15th century CE. A wonderful pottery pitcher glazed a verdant shade of light green. Boasting a lustrous burnish, the elegant vessel presents a spherical body, a slender neck, and a thick, flared rim, all sitting upon a ring-form foot. A trifurcated handle loops upwards on the shoulder of the vessel, spiraling into itself, while a zoomorphic spout with a pair of volute embellishments resembling ram horns protrudes from the opposite side.
