Colt Model 1851 London Navy and original American casing. Overall VG condition. All original and complete and mechanically perfect. Steel is beautifully factory engraved. Grips are deluxe burl wood. The gun shows period use and wear. No original finish remains. Markings are clear and legible except cylinder scene. The cylinder was burnished decades ago. English proofs are present on the left side of the frame, none on the cylinder.

The deluxe wood casing is an original and the desirable Colt New York style as opposed to Colt London style. It retains the original lining in the lid, and on the flat bottom of the box. The compartment partitions are 20th century restorations.

Present in the box is a non-Colt style powder flask, numerous 36 caliber pistol balls, a cap tin, and a double cavity brass bullet mold marked -36- on the sprue cutter. Also present are two detachable wood handles for the bullet mold. Very handsome and very scarce.
