Chancery folio:8 1/3 by 12 1/4" (303 x 203mm.)
347 leaves (of 348), a-z & [con] [rum] A-Q8 R-S6, double column, 57 lines, roman type, vellum binding with morocco lettering-piece, first leaf laid down and slightly stained with a few wormholes, a few leaves browned, lacking final leaf (containing register), a few small wormholes at end.

Junianus Maius (Giuniano Maio) was a humanist at the Aragonese court in Naples. His alphabetical list of extracts from other lexicographical authors (including Tortelli, Varro and Festus) was first printed in Naples in 1475.
De priscorum proprietate verborum a CHIEF SOURCE FOR CALEPINUS.
Poliziano used it in his classes and for his commentaries on Virgil, Terence and Suetonius.
This dictionary also served poets, lawyers, theologians, rhetoricians
and students.
Entries offer from one to more than twenty examples, gathered from late classical and medieval writers.
