Marca tipografica al frontespizio (anello con diamante in cornice figurata). Capilettera ornato e final. Xil. Leggera velatura d'umidità nel margine inferiore delle prima pagine, non interessando il testo. Buon esemplare.I "Capriccia Macaronica" ebbero notevole successo e furono ristampati più volte, sono gustose e vivaci satire, interessante documento di costume, giudicate da critici e bibliografi come una delle opere più vive della poesia barocca ed il miglior esempio, dopo il Folengo, del genere maccheronico. Oltre alle otto "macaroneae" comprende un'egloga, numerosi epigrammi ed un "Elegiarum liber", sempre in stile maccheronico. Cesare Orsini, nato a Ponzano Magra nella seconda metà del XVI sec. e morto dopo il 1638, fu al servizio di vari personaggi a Venezia e Brescia, ed a Roma fu segretario del Card. Bevilacqua. Con lo pseudonimo di Magister Stopinus pubblicò nel 1636 a Venezia. Graesse Vi, 503. Brunet V, 550. Il vero nome dell'autore dell'opera è Cesare Orsini, cfr.: G. 16mo, 130x70 mm, full vellum binding. Printer's device on titlepage. Woodcut initials and endpieces. Slight humidity in the lower margin of the first leaves, text not interested. Good copy.
The "Capriccia Macaronica" had considerable success and were reprinted several times, they are tasty and lively satires, an interesting document of customs, judged by critics and bibliographers as one of the most vivid works of Baroque poetry and the best example, after Folengo, of the genre macaronic. In addition to the eight "macaroneae", it includes an eclogue, numerous epigrams and an "Elegiarum liber", again in the macaronic style. Cesare Orsini, born in Ponzano Magra in the second half of the 16th century and died after 1638, he was in the service of various personalities in Venice and Brescia, and in Rome he was secretary of Cardinal Bevilacqua. Under the pseudonym of Magister Stopinus he published in 1636 in Venice.
