Demanins’ montage combines a night shot of the Faro della Vittoria lighthouse with views of the harbour and of the medieval tower of the Cattedrale di San Giusto in Triest. Demanins had opened his photographic studio in 1927 and became a major exponent of Futurism in the 1930s. His work was later forgotten and has only recently received renewed attention. Demanins hatte 1927 sein Fotoatelier eröffnet und wurde in den 1930ern ein bedeutender Vertreter des Futurismus. Sein Werk geriet später in Vergessenheit und findet erst in jüngerer Zeit wieder Beachtung.
