Item Details

Description

A late 19th or early 20th Century Neoclassical Coverd Jar by Caldwell. Inscribed in fanciful script encircling the base: E. F. Caldwell & Co. Inc. New York. Bas-relief decorated footed and covered jar depicting classical winged figures with musical instruments prancing on a stone walkway around the vessel flanked by torchiere lamps and urns. Note the grape pickers and grapevines enveloping the lid decor. GIlt interior, blossom form finial, and ball feet. Measures 8" tall and 7" in diameter. CONDITION: Excellent and undamaged. Some minor scratches and spotting to interior. No dents, no breaks, and no repairs. Patinated surface crisp and clean.
