Description
MASSIVE Pair of Chinese QianLong Gilt Cloisonne Fruit Jar; 18th c Having simply deep bowl body, raised on concave splayed foot base. Wealthily decorated with layers of Repeated Ruyi patterns bands. The jar characterized with colorful symbolic lotus flower embossed with various semi-precious hard stones including lapis-lazuli, turquoise, rose quartz over flori-form crown. The interior decorated with colorful flower blooms over gilt crackled glazed pattern. All reserved in turquoise blue body.

Guan (Wade Giles : kuan) ware, literally means "official" ware; so certain Ru, Jun, and even Ding could be considered Guan in the broad sense of being produced for the court. Strictly speaking, however, the term only applies to that produced by an official, imperially run kiln, which did not start until the Southern Song fled the advancing Jin and settled at Lin'an. It was during this period that walls become so thin and glaze so thick that the latter superseded the former in breadth. As the clay in the foothills around Lin'an, was a brownish color, and the glaze so viscous.[36]

Condition
Minor scratches on gilt bronze and tiny holes of corrosions on cloisonne. Normal, consider ages and wear. Over all in excellent condition.
