Mexican Stone and Copper Box Dedicated to Milton Miles. Copper box with inlaid stone and metal throughout, wood lined interior, the lid engraved with 'LA MARINA DE MEXICO AL CONTRALMIRANTE MILTON E. MILES FEBRERO 1957'. The underside with 'LOS CASTILLO TAXCO / HANDWROUGHOUT / HECHO EN MEXICO'. {Approximate dimensions: 2 1/2 high x 7 1/2 wide x 4 1/2 inches deep.}. Condition: Patina and minor surface wear throughout. Metal to the lid is slightly lifted. Milton Miles (April 6, 1900 – March 25, 1961) was a Vice Admiral in the United States Navy, who served in World War II as head of Naval Intelligence operations in China, and later, second-in-command of the Sino-American Special Technical Cooperative Organization.
