Large German silver presentation platter, 19th c., likely .800 silver hammered sheet metal, decorated in deep repousse, the center bowl depicting a woman astride a Hydra before begging men of influence, the rim decorated with rondels containing neoclassical nudes alternating with urns and floral scrolls, no mark observed, 17"h x 20"w x 5"d, approx. 18.8ozt
