Edward John Russell (1832-1906). Watercolor on paper. Signed and dated '99 on lower right. Scene depicts the Cunard Line RMS Lucania secretly moving past a sailing boat. . Watercolor housed in lemon gold molded frameunder mat and glass. Under mat, watercolor measures approximately 25 inches wide by 15.75 inches high. Outside of frame measures 30 inches wide by 23.25 inches high. Born in England, Russell was a talented painter of marine scenes as well as a photographer, draftsman, cartoonist, and illustrator, He worked out of Canada and Boston, Mass.
