RIAA Gold Album award for Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band album The Fire Inside signed on its front by Bob Seger. The album was released on Aug. 19, 1991 and certified Gold on Oct. 21, 1991 for 500,000 copies sold.

Singles included the title track, "Take A Chance" and "The Real Love", all of which charted. The album itself peaked at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. By November of 1991 it was certified Platinum by the RIAA. Seger signed the award on the lower left corner of the its plexiglass in black felt marker.

Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation RIAA Platinum award that would have been manufactured in 1991 making it 31 years old. It is signed in black marker by Seger on the plexiglass. The award is presented to Dianne Greve. It is not known what role Greve played in the creation or marketing of the release.

The award is in VG condition with only very minor wear on the frame and plexiglass. Its' backing paper appears original but is missing the manufacturer's sticker but adhesive residue appears in the shape, size and location of an Ill Eagle Enterprises sticker, and Ill Eagle is known to have made awards during the 1991 period.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
