Description
Four Piece Assembled Meissen Porcelain Garniture Set, 19th c., consisting of a pair of six light candelabra, with applied floral decoration on a like decorated tapered support, to a tripodal base with three relief children and applied floral decoration, on four scrolled legs, H.- 22 in., Dia.- 11 in., together with a like decorated reticulated porcelain center bowl, the gilt decorated bowl supported by the figures of a male and female dancer, on a sloping relief decorated circular base, on a square plateau with applied and painted floral decoration, on four splated legs, H.- 22 1/4 in., W.- 10 in., D.- 10 in., each piece having the crossed swords mark in underglaze blue. (4 Pcs.) Provenance: The Estate of Carroll Bowers, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition
Condition as is. Prior repair to one candelabra has messy yellow residue on center post about two inches below the candelabra arms. On same example. The boy in purple’s arm is detached but present. Small losses to some petals. On other candelabra, some pieces are detached but present. Small losses to some petals. Centerpiece has discolored glaze and it is flaking throughout the top bowl.
