Native American, Midwest United States, Paleo-Indian Period, ca. 13000 to 8000 BCE (15,000 to 10,000 BP). A fantastic set of 4 hand-knapped chert Clovis type projectile points of lanceolate forms with gentle notches knapped into the bases. The first point bears smoky gray and beige hues and has a shortened body that culminates in a pointed tip. The red-hued stone point exhibits wonderous coloration and has a gently tapered lower body. The light gray point has gently convex faces that taper towards the rounded point. The largest point - boasting a creamy yellow hue - displays petite ridges along the edges as well as a shallow hafting groove on each face. Modern Riker box included. Loss to one tail fin on smallest point; remaining 3 points are intact and excellent. Minor nicks and abrasions commensurate with age and the knapping process, with light surface roughness on light gray point. Great surface smoothness and preservation to forms.
