This is an exceptional Soup/Vegetable Tureen made by Richard Ginori in Italy.
Richard Ginori dinnerware is sophisticated, beautifully colored and drawn, with intricate detailing, elegant shapes, and an aesthetic that is unique and Italian! All patterns are hand painted or hand decorated, and even their white patterns are graceful and lovely.
The tureen is in Ginori classic Palermo Red pattern.
It is properly marked. The pattern was made between 1977 and 1995.
The tureen is very nice looking with red and gold encrusted rim.
The tureen is 10 3/4" in diameter at the rim and it is 6" tall to the end of the lid.
It is really extraordinary piece.
The tureen is in very good condition. There could be some darker spots on the gold band consistent with age and use.

Today, Richard Ginori is the most famous Italian factory producing porcelain dinnerware. In 2013, the Gucci company purchased Richard Ginori 1735, ensuring that the company will remain true to its Italian heritage of producing the finest porcelain dinnerware.
Porcelain is made principally from the clay kaolin, and is fired at high temperatures which causes a process called vitrification. Often referred to as china or fine china, it is renowned for its strength, hardness, toughness, whiteness, translucence and impermeability.
