Item Details

Description

This is an early 20th century Catawba Valley jug, possibly by Sylvanus Hartsoe, based on glaze & glassing toward the top of the jug. Not absolute, but one idea. This is marked w/ 3 for gallonage. Stands 16" by 9.5". The glass either came from the glaze or was applied to the upper portion and blends into the glaze, thickening the upper portion.

Condition

Overall very good condition. There is a spider crack on the base that crawls up the sides 5-6" in several places.
