Description

The Reverend Julias Kennedy (stamp JAK) was from the Catawba Valley of NC; his pots are rare and highly sought. His sons in the first about century ago later made all types of utilitarianware in Wilkes Co NC. They employed alkaline and Albany slip glazes primarily. There is also natural titanium dioxide that fires out as the beautiful blue rutile. And Kennedy pottery has some of the truly best blue rutile appearence (this is based on the clay but also some on some due to the temp and other conditions in the firing. This is really wonderful example of their pots; the handles are one of the other indicators of the Kennedy shop. Almost all is unsigned. Th18" tall

Condition

Overall very excellent. There is one chip that is noted on the lip as pictured. This was reviewed with black light and there is no restoration that was observed.
