This amazing pottery bear figural was created by Navajo potter Louisa Goodman (b1937-d2015). Most of Louisa's work is far smaller. This example is true museum top collection level with it's monumental size. And it's uniqueness & rareness cannot be understated. Stands 15.5" tall. Her pottery creations are almost never signed. For the monumental size & rarity of this Louisa Goodman figural, the condition is simple fantastic. There is no restoration, although there is a stable hairline that comes down the front and the underside of the little pot the bear is holding. There are various other minor areas of chips and wear that is common to in her work.
