George Seton Coggeshall Illinois (1914 - 1994) untitled man, woman and books acrylic on board With estate stamp verso. George Coggeshall is known for War images, murals, commercial art, illustration. He studied in Luxembourg France, the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and the Art Institute in Chicago. He was a commercial artist in the 1960s in the Midwest. He is best known for his great color compositions that illicit dimension, form and abstractions. His work hangs in private institutions and private collections. He was a commercial artist in Chicago area for over 35 years, illustrating and designing highly realistic renderings of people, food, and products to be reproduced for printed point of purchase displays, publications, and large decals for store windows and doors. Highly successful career as an illustrator and commercial artist in the Chicago area for 35 years. His clients included RC Cola, Nehi, Phillip Morris, Meyercord Decal.
